Dr. Carine Smit is a dedicated and compassionate Paediatrician based in the serene Lowveld region. With a medical journey that began at the University of Pretoria in 2009 and flourished at the University of Stellenbosch, Dr. Smit brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her community.

Dr. Smit achieved her MBChB in 2009 at the University of Pretoria, and subsequently earned her FCPead MMed (Pead) at the University of Stellenbosch in 2017. Her formative years of public service and formal paediatric training unfolded in Stellenbosch, with her internship at the Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town.

In 2019, Dr. Smit and her family made the heartfelt decision to leave the bustling Mother City for the tranquil embrace of the Lowveld. Here, she practices as a General Paediatrician, with a profound focus on Pulmonology and Allergology, particularly allergies.

As part of her compassionate approach to healthcare, Dr. Smit obtained a diploma in Allergies. This accomplishment enhances her expertise but also positions her as the sole registered Allergy Doctor in the Lowveld, recognised by the Allergy Foundation of South Africa (AFSA). Driven by her commitment to providing the best possible care, Dr. Smit seeks to contribute significantly to the well-being of her community through her specialised knowledge and genuine compassion.
