    Dr Barnard graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand and subsequently completed Diplomas in Community and General Paediatrics and Child Health. She has a gentle approach to patient care and is passionate about children’s health. Barnard is married, mother of one and has many pets. She enjoys trail running, baking, and painting in her free time. Having a young family herself, Dr Barnard is passionate about children’s medicine, baby wellness, allergies and taking care of a patient’s mental health. “I enjoy learning about more than just the clinical presentation, but also the context from which a patient comes from. I value building relationship and strengthening systems that support patients.”

    We have been to Dr Lukie a number of times, and each time I leave feeling seen and heard. Dr Lukie is patient and kind and listens to your concerns. She is so gentle and warm with children. We trust her and her assessment and I appreciate her clear explanation of symptoms and causes and I always leave a consultation feeling understood and equipped with more knowledge and context. I recommend her to everyone I know.

    I was pleasantly surprised with Dr L Barnard's attention to detail, when you explain your symptoms. I appreciate her good nature and approachability. She helped me with my sinuses and picked up my Vit D deficiency via blood results. She gave me a call to discuss my results as well. I will definitely refer other people to her.

    Dr. Lukie’s office is beautifully aesthetic and very calming. She was completely through with my diagnosis and testing. This was truly a lovely experience despite my uncomfortable symptoms.
