A community-focused medical practice, delivering patient-centred and family-oriented health solutions. Attended Michaelhouse and studied at MBChB at UCT, thereafter spent two years working abroad in England and the UK. Worked in elective Orthopaedics in UK and in Family practice in rural Canada. Returned to DBN where I practiced as a GP, with special interest in allergy and asthma. Did clinical research in this field, participating in the STRAT study, the longest paediatric asthma study. Interests in cosmetic medicine, mole mapping and weight management. Moved to CT where I took a 2 year break from clinical medicine, and started working in pharmacogenomics, how ones genes affect the metabolism, absorption, distribution and excretion of drugs. I currently also consult in this field.
