It is always important to be precise and detailed in your assessment and management. I believe in really spending quality time with a patient, to understand who they are, what their lifestyle entails and including them in the decision making process. It is important to understand that every patient is an individual with individual needs and wants. These are crucial to include in managing your patient. I believe in counselling my patients on their results, risks involved and management moving forward. I believe in including their needs, wants, family, lifestyle, budget, together with their clincial results in the management process. It is so important to always support our patients in their journey to better hearing because every patient is an indiviudal and is exposed to different environments. Therefore a journey to better hearing is never a one size fits all- but rather individualised". "It is important to always remember that it is not a "patient" but a "person" who you are assisiting. Empathy and compassion should therefore be a guiding principle. We should always practice in a manner that benefits the patient and what gives the best results to a patient. Therefore, ethical, accurate and individualised care, whilst always having the patient's best interest at heart is what I use as my foundtion in my practice".
